Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in West Thurrock is recruiting a permanent Class 1 HGV Driver. The role involves delivering and collecting vehicles for repair across London, the M25 corridor and surrounding areas. Mon-Fri, 07:00–17:00 (45 hours per week) with occasional overtime including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with reception regarding collections and deliveries.
• Record all necessary information when collecting customer vehicles.
• Move and position vehicles in workshop and yard.
• Complete relevant paperwork.
• Tag vehicle keys and verify security on arrival.
• Ensure seat covers and floor mats are fitted on arrival.
• Identify and handle hybrid vehicles correctly.
• Ensure work is completed on time and without rectification.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as required by a senior manager.

A permanent, full-time Class 1 HGV Driver position is available in West Thurrock, offering an hourly rate of £18-20 dependent on licences and certificates. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 17:00 (45 hours weekly), with additional hours and Saturdays required occasionally, paid at time and a half. The role involves delivering and collecting vehicles for repair within London, the M25 corridor, and surrounding areas. The employer is a family-run commercial bodyshop group established in 1986, operating across the South East. Applicants must hold a valid Class 1 licence and relevant CPC qualifications, with experience in vehicle transport preferred. About The Role

The overall purpose will be to deliver and collect vehicles for repair and once repairs are completed You will be assisting in all types of vehicles movements and to be the first face to face contact with customers when collecting vehicles.

Main Activities and tasks

• Liaise with reception regarding the days collection and deliveries
• When collecting customer vehicles, record all necessary information
• Handle movements of vehicles in workshop and yard
• Complete relevant information paperwork as necessary
• Add security key tag to vehicle keys upon arrival on site
• Ensure that seat covers, floor mats and steering wheel covers are fitted upon arrival on site
• To identify and handle hybrid vehicles correctly
• To ensure that all work is completed on time and without the need of rectification
• Always look to improve working methods, subject to the managers approval
• Always wear and use appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment where and when required
• To comply with Company repair and safe working methods
• All health and safety procedures, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) to be adhered to at all times
• Any other reasonable tasks, as necessary, you be carried out at the request of a senior manager
