Job summary

DFDS in the United Kingdom is seeking a reliable Class 1 Driver based in Kettering to collect ferry trailers and deliver to customer sites across the UK, including loads such as giant paper rolls used for cardboard box production. This role involves tipping, reloading and returning to the docks to keep vital supply chains moving.

You will perform daily vehicle checks, maintain accurate delivery records and comply with road safety and transport regulations.

• CPC up to date and valid
• DIGI card and driving hours knowledge required
• Experience with ferry trailers or dockside operations is a bonus

About the role

Shifts Available: Days, Tramping & Nights

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our growing transport team. Based out of Kettering, you'll be collecting ferry trailers and delivering to customer sites across the UK, this will include loads like giant paper rolls, used to make cardboard boxes for home deliveries. This will involve tipping, reloading, and returning to the docks, helping keep vital supply chains moving.

• Timely collections and deliveries across the UK
• Safe transport of goods using curtainsider trailers
• Daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Accurate record-keeping of deliveries and driving hours
• Compliance with all road safety and transport regulations

About You

You’re a professional Class 1 Driver who takes pride in doing the job right. Whether your background is in general haulage, fridge work, or both, you’re thorough with vehicle checks, safety-conscious, and confident working independently.

You’re up to date with your CPC, DIGI card and driving hours, and you bring a customer-first attitude to every job. Experience with ferry trailers or dockside operations is a bonus.

This role is ideal for someone seeking steady, well-organised work with a supportive transport team.
