Job summary

Ideal Recruit is currently seeking HGV Class 1 (Category CE) Drivers for a well-established client based in Sheffield. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers ongoing, stable work for professional drivers.

Duties include trunking deliveries/collections, vehicle checks and paperwork, and compliance with Drivers' Hours regulations. Excellent pay rates apply across Weekdays and Weekends with overtime possibilities. Valid UK HGV Class 1 entitlement, CPC, and up to 6 points are required.

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 driving entitlement.
• Minimum 6 months of Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Endorsements: Maximum 6 points (no CD, DD, DR, or IN).

Duties & Responsibilities

Delivering and collecting goods via trunking routes (RDC to RDC).

Completing standard vehicle check sheets and paperwork accurately.

Adhering to EU Drivers’ Hours regulations and Working Time Directives.

Pay Rates (Holiday Included)

Mon – Fri Days: £16.14 per hour

Mon – Fri Days Overtime (over 55 hrs): £24.21 per hour

Mon – Fri Nights: £17.26 per hour

Mon – Fri Nights Overtime (over 55 hrs): £25.89 per hour

Saturday & Sunday Days: £24.21 per hour

Saturday & Sunday Nights: £25.89 per hour

Requirements

Licence: Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving entitlement.

Experience: Minimum 6 months of Class 1 driving experience.

Cards: Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.

Endorsements: Maximum 6 points for minor offenses (no CD, DD, DR, or IN endorsements).

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be required to complete a driver assessment (approx. 3–4 hours).
