Job summary

Ideal Recruit Ltd is recruiting experienced Class 1 drivers for a reputable company in Preston. The assignment runs for 8–10 weeks with ongoing support from the team.

Shifts include day, afternoon and night, 5/6 days a week, with a minimum 8 hours per shift. A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph card are essential, with up to 6 penalty points allowed.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (minor offences only).
• Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Depot deliveries and trunking for general haulage.
• Shift rota across day, afternoon and night.
• 5/6 days out of 7 with minimum 8 hours per shift.
• Weekend work is essential, with Christmas/New Year availability.

Job description

Ideal Recruit is recruiting experienced Class 1 drivers for a reputable company in Preston, with an assignment running for at least 8–10 weeks and support throughout.

PAYE Rates

• Standard: £21.44
• Dawn shift: £22.48
• Early shift (05:00): £21.99
• Early shift (05:30): £21.71
• Evening shift: £22.22
• Late shift: £23.09
• Night shift: £24.57

Overtime paid at £24.51 per hour for hours worked over 36 hours and 15 minutes per week.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

• A rota covering 5/6 days out of 7.

• A minimum of 8 hours per shift.

• Depot deliveries and collections / general haulage & trunking.

• Day, afternoon and night shifts across Monday to Sunday.

• A short induction lasting approximately two hours.

• Ongoing support from our team throughout your assignment.

AVAILABILITY

Weekend availability is essential. You must also be available to work:

• Christmas Eve OR Boxing Day, and

• New Year’s Eve OR New Year’s Day

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence

• An up-to-date Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card

• No more than 6 penalty points, for minor offences only

• Class 1 driving experience and a reliable, professional approach

• Minimum 1 year of Class 1 driving experience
