Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is recruiting a UK-based Class 1 driver to support central belt deliveries from Motherwell. You will operate refrigerated trailers with tail lifts, load securely, and perform daily safety checks. You’ll stay in touch with the transport team, join ongoing training, and complete yard shunting after deliveries.

Emphasis on customer service, reliability, and teamwork. Shift starts 14:00 on a 4on 4off rota, with overtime available and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• UK Class 1 CE Licence is essential.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card required.
• Refrigerated trailer experience is preferred but training is provided.
• Customer service focus and ability to meet deadlines.
• Confident, polite team player with a hard-working attitude.

Responsibilities

• Make multi drop milk cage deliveries to retail stores in the central belt.
• Load goods securely and use straps/nets to prevent movement.
• Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using company system.
• Maintain regular communication with transport team and update progress.
• Participate in training sessions to stay current with industry standards.
• Complete shunting duties in the yard after deliveries.

Job description

• Use a refrigerated trailer with use of a tail lift to make multi drop milk cage deliveries to retail stores in the central belt area.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.
• Complete shunting duties in the yard once deliveries are completed.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of refrigerated trailers is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.

£17.25 per hour. PLUS for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.
