Job summary

TRC Yorkshire is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers (CAT C+E) for ongoing roles in the West Midlands. Shifts run across Monday to Sunday with flexible start times from 12:00 to 21:00, and pay rates vary by day and overtime with weekly pay.

Roles involve depot loading/unloading, client site pickups, hub transfers, and occasional tail-lift operations. Drivers must have CPC/DVSA tachograph card, clean licence, and WTD understanding.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• At least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.
