Job summary

A driving role with Allscreens Nationwide Ltd requires you to transport goods across the UK and Scotland, perform vehicle checks, and ensure compliance with driving hours and transport legislation. You will operate various trailers, load and unload, and maintain vehicle presentation.

The role includes overnight stays once per week, a 28-day leave entitlement, a company pension, EAP, and an employee discount platform; overtime paid at 1.25x, with vehicle assignment managed by operations.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 licence and current CPC and Tachograph card.
• Experience operating HGV Class 1 vehicles.
• Ability to stay away overnight once per week.
• Strong knowledge of driver hours, vehicle compliance and transport legislation.
• Positive, professional and safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Transport goods to customers across the UK and Scotland.
• Maintain compliance with driving laws and regulations.
• Complete vehicle checks, defect reporting and driver hour requirements.
• Carry out trailer work including refrigerated trailers, curtain siders, low loaders and containers.
• Load and unload trailers at collection and drop off locations.
• Complete delivery, collection and transport documentation accurately.
• Provide excellent service to customers.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Operate a forklift or pump truck when required (training provided).
• Support yard shunting activities when required.
• Drive the company bus to transport staff between sites when required.

Salary: £17.90 per hour (up to 40 hours), £22.38 per hour (after 40 hours)

Week 1: 5 days on, 1 day off | Week 2: 5 days on, 2 days off

Key responsibilities would be:

• Transporting goods to customers across the UK and Scotland
• Maintaining compliance with driving laws and regulations
• Completing vehicle checks, defect reporting and driver hour requirements
• Carrying out a variety of trailer work, including refrigerated trailers, curtain siders, low loaders and containers
• Loading and unloading trailers at collection and drop off locations
• Completing delivery, collection and transport documentation accurately
• Providing excellent service to customers
• Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation
• Operating a forklift or pump truck when required (training provided where appropriate)
• Supporting yard shunting activities when required
• Driving of the company bus where required to transport staff between sites

Please note that vehicles are allocated according to operational requirements, so drivers are not assigned a permanent vehicle.

Experience and skills required:

• HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
• Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous experience operating HGV Class 1 vehicles
• Commitment to being able to stay away overnight once per week
• Strong understanding of driver hours, vehicle compliance and transport legislation
• A positive, professional and safety-focused approach
• Ability to work flexibly to meet operational requirements
• Forklift experience (desirable)
