Job summary

The Best Connection Carlisle is seeking a Class 1 (C+E) Driver for daytime work based in Penrith. This temp-to-perm role offers guaranteed hours (approximately 50–55 hours per week) with routes including Newcastle and Glasgow, and backhaul collections through Preston.

You will hold a valid Class 1 licence, CPC and Tachograph card, with prior Class 1 experience preferred. The position pays £17.05 per hour, with weekly pay during the temporary period and potential permanent placement.

The Best Connection Carlisle are currently recruiting for a Class 1 (C+E) Driver on behalf of our client based in Penrith. This is a fantastic temp to perm opportunity offering stable, ongoing work with guaranteed hours and the chance to secure a permanent position.

The Role

• Day shift work
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Typical working week of 50-55 hours
• Two deliveries per day
• Loads are pre-loaded at the depot
• Delivery routes include:
  • Newcastle
  • Glasgow
• Backhaul collections returning via the Preston area
• Completion of delivery paperwork and vehicle checks

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred
• Good understanding of driver hours and working time regulations
• Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious
• Strong work ethic and punctuality
