Job summary

GXO Blyth is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team delivering for B&Q and keeping projects moving. You’ll work a 5 days out of 7 pattern on a PM shift with start times from 15:00 to 18:00.

The role offers an annual salary of £43,643 plus hourly premiums for night and late shifts, plus benefits including pension, dental insurance, GP service, and access to GXO University.

Qualifications

• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential.
• Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement.
• Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards.
• No more than 6 current penalty points.
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a mix of multidrop and trunking deliveries to stores.
• Handle palletised goods and cages with safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain communication with the Depot Transport Office and provide courteous customer service.
• Operate company vehicles safely, legally, and with required documentation.

Here at GXO Blyth we are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team, supporting our customer B&Q. You'll be part of a team that works together to keep projects moving, ensuring every delivery helps create homes people love.

You will be working on an 'an any 5 days form 7' pattern, on PM shift with start times of 15:00 to 18:00.

• An additional £25.36 per hour for hours worked beyond 00:00
• An additional £ 3.15 per hour early shift premium, for hours worked beyond 20:00 and 06:00
• An additional £12.68 per hour works beyond 20:00 and finishes before 00:00

What you will do on a typical day:

• Carry out a mix of multidrop and trunking deliveries, while collecting waste from stores in line with operational requirements
• Handle both palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures
• Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time

What you need to succeed at GXO:
