Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd is seeking a reliable Class 1 Driver to join our Ipswich team. You will operate Class 1 HGV vehicles to deliver telehandlers and plant across sites, ensuring safe loading, secure restraints, and timely handovers with strong customer service.

You will perform daily vehicle checks, maintain clear records, and liaise with site personnel. A DIGI Card, CPC, NPORS, and an LGV C+CE licence are required, with good English and a spotless safety record.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar position.
• Good time keeping and self-motivated.
• Driver DIGI Card.
• LGV Licence category C + CE.
• Ability to speak and write a good standard of English.
• In possession of full driving licence with no more than 3 points.
• NPORS Card.
• CPC record up to date (evidence required).

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 HGV vehicles to deliver and collect telehandlers and plant.
• Ensure loads are securely strapped and loaded/unloaded safely per regs.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report maintenance needs.
• Liaise with customers and site personnel for smooth handovers.
• Complete delivery/collection documentation accurately and maintain records.

This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of telehandlers and other plant, ensuring timely deliveries while upholding high standards of professionalism and customer service. Class 1 Driver Job Overview

• Operate Class 1 HGV vehicles to deliver and collect telehandlers and various types of plant machinery across designated sites.
• Ensure all loads are securely and safely strapped, loaded, and unloaded in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and routine maintenance reporting to ensure roadworthiness and prevent downtime.
• Liaise with customers and site personnel to ensure smooth, timely, and professional equipment handovers.
• Complete delivery and collection documentation accurately and maintain clear records in line with company procedures.

Class 1 Driver Job Requirements

• Experience in a similar position.
• Good time keeping skills and self-motivated.
• Driver DIGI Card.
• LGV Licence category C + CE.
• The ability to speak and write a good standard of English.
• Demonstrate a full and varied knowledge of all plant.
• In possession of a full, valid Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.

• An update to date CPC record (evidence will need to be provided).
