Job summary

Rapier in Hatfield is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for store deliveries across the North London, Essex and Kent area. You'll be responsible for safe, timely palletised deliveries and maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Average shifts are long but consistent, with premium overtime pay and regular weekly pay. The role offers ongoing work, pension and holiday entitlement within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 licence and CDL experience required.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• At least 1 year of Class 1 driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver store orders safely and on time.
• Transport palletised loads with minimal manual handling.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain compliance with transport rules.
• Deliver excellent customer service at every location.

• Tuesday to Saturday
• Sunday to Thursday

Start Times

• Day Shift: 04:00 - 06:00
• Late Shift: 12:00 - 17:00

Pay RatesStandard Hours

• £20.44 per hour (04:00 - 13:00)
• £21.76 per hour (13:00 - 04:00)

Overtime (after 8 hours)

• £30.65 per hour (04:00 - 13:00)
• £32.65 per hour (13:00 - 04:00)

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you'll be responsible for delivering retail goods from the distribution centre to stores acrossNorth

London, Essex and Kent.

• Completing store deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Transporting predominantly palletised loads with minimal manual handling.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
• Completing delivery paperwork and maintaining compliance with transport regulations.
• Delivering excellent customer service at every location.

Average shift lengths are8-12 hours, depending on your route, with regular start times and ongoing work available.

Requirements

• A validHGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence.
• A validDriver CPCandDigital Tachograph Card.
• At least1 year's Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than6 penalty points(no major endorsements).
• A good understanding of Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and road transport legislation.
• A professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude.
