Job summary

GXO is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join the Gateshead depot. You will deliver loads across the North, support shunting between factory and warehouse, and perform trailer swaps while upholding safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a C+E licence with clean points, CPC and tachograph qualifications, and strong communication. This full-time role offers a 04:00–06:00 start window and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• UK driving licence with C+E category.
• Less than six points on licence.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph up-to-date.
• Good communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full loads to various locations across the North, always ensuring safe and efficient transport.
• Support shunting operations between the factory and warehouse, keeping site movements running smoothly.
• Carry out trailer swap operations in Wakefield, following all safety and compliance procedures.
• Maintain the highest levels of hygiene and housekeeping across the depot, vehicle, and assigned trailer.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections for defects, damage, or wear and tear, reporting any issues promptly.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A full UK driving licence with C+E category
• Less than six points on your licence (as well as no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT endorsements)
• An up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph
• A positive attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
