Job summary

Qube Recruitment is seeking an experienced Class 1 HGV Day Driver to join a Tesco contract in Doncaster on a temp-to-perm basis. You will deliver to Tesco stores, complete cages handling, and follow all driving hours and safety procedures.

The role offers day shifts at £17.06 per hour, with ongoing work for reliable drivers and a pathway to permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence is required.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card are required.
• Previous Class 1 driving experience is preferred.
• Comfortable with store deliveries and handling cages or roll containers.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and road safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 1 vehicle to deliver goods to Tesco stores.
• Complete store deliveries in line with planned routes and schedules.
• Handle cages and roll containers.
• Safely manoeuvre the vehicle in delivery areas and loading bays.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.

We are recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) HGV Drivers to join a reputable and well known client of ours in Doncaster.

This role involves delivering goods to supermarket stores, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 1 vehicle to deliver goods to stores.


• Completing store deliveries in line with planned routes and delivery schedules.


• Handling cages and roll containers.


• Safely manoeuvring the vehicle in store delivery areas and loading bays.


• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects.


• Completing delivery paperwork and following all delivery procedures.


• Maintaining regular communication with the transport team regarding delays or issues.


• Following drivers' hours regulations, road traffic laws and company health and safety procedures.


• Providing a professional and courteous service when delivering to Tesco stores.


• Ensuring goods are transported securely and handled with care.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.


• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.


• Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred.


• Comfortable with store deliveries and handling cages or roll containers.
