Driver Hire Basingstoke and Newbury are seeking to recruit several Class 1 Drivers to support our local clients' temporary staffing needs. Our clients are based from Hook in the south, through Basingstoke and Tadley, to Newbury and Thatcham in the north.

The work varies, and drivers may operate different vehicles for various clients. Deliveries may include customer sites or local depots.

The work schedule is flexible, with work generally from Monday to Friday, and occasional weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-drop and collection work across the depot's geographical area.
• Manual handling/loading of products.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Manage routing independently, ensuring planned collections and effective communication with the transport team.
• Conduct daily safety checks on the vehicle and equipment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Indicate if ADR or HIAB qualified on your CV.
• No more than 6 points for minor offences (no DD, DR, or IN endorsements).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good organizational skills.

Hours, Pay, and Benefits

• Minimum of 8 hours per full day or 4 hours per half day.
• £17.00 – £18.00 per hour, Monday to Friday (dependent on assignment).
• Enhanced rates available on weekends and bank holidays.
• Rates are PAYE, paid weekly.
• Holiday pay is included in weekly payments.
