Job description

Savanna Staff Solutions are urgently recruiting for a Class 1 driver for our mail delivery company with many branches across London and the surrounding counties.

Start times are all PM starts (from midday), and you will be required to do trunking runs from depot to depot, with possible cage pushing.

Daily Class 1 Driver duties include:

1. Daily pre- and post-vehicle inspections to maintain HGV roadworthiness
2. Trunk driving from depot to depot, including trailer swaps at operating centres
3. Following correct procedures and operating systems
4. Maintaining high standards of driving on the road

Interested Class 1 drivers must meet the following experience and qualification requirements:

• Minimum 1 year Cat CE (12 months provable experience on the road)
• Current UK Licence, Digi card, and CPC DQC card
• Right to live and work in the UK (9-digit settlement share code)
• Good communicative English (speaking and writing)

Our client urges Class 1 drivers to download their Digi cards now. If you can demonstrate at least 6 months of continuous driving (minimum 2 days per week over 12 months), you will be offered ongoing work throughout the year.

Role

This Class 1 Driver role is paid per hour, with elevated overtime pay after 8 hours, higher pay on Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays. We operate under an umbrella PAYE model — contact us for more details.
