Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) for general haulage duties, delivering curtain-sided loads on behalf of XPO. You will operate modern vehicles, complete around two runs per shift, and use ePOD for delivery documentation.

Ideal candidates will hold a C+E licence with CPC and Digi Card, be reliable and safety-focused, and comfortable with a professional customer-facing role. Shifts are paid for a minimum of 8 hours with paid assessments after full shifts.

Responsibilities

• Use industry-leading ePOD technology to manage delivery documentation.
• Ensure all vehicle and road safety regulations are followed at all times.
• Work closely with site teams and customers to provide an excellent service.
• Carry out occasional manual handling duties when required.

HGV Class 1 Driver - General Haulage

£16.50 per hour | Minimum 8 hours paid | Modern Fleet

We're looking for professional and reliable HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our team, completing general haulage and curtain-sided deliveries on behalf of XPO.

Rates of Pay

• £16.50 per hour
• Minimum 8 hours paid per shift
• Assessment: 3-4 hours
• Assessment is paid once you have completed your first full shift
• General haulage work - usually around 2 runs per shift

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Safely operate modern HGV Class 1 vehicles.
• Complete curtain-sided trailer deliveries on behalf of XPO.
• Carry out general haulage deliveries, usually completing around 2 runs per shift.
• Represent the business professionally at customer sites.

Most loads are loaded and unloaded by site teams and customers, so manual handling is generally kept to a minimum. However, occasional manual duties may be required.
