Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Driver for The Range contract in the Stowmarket area. The role features a 4on 4off rota with day shifts starting early (03:00–06:00) and a target of 1–3 drops per shift to ensure timeliness and customer satisfaction.

You must hold a UK Class 1 CE licence, Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card. Training is provided for relevant experience and a strong safety focus is required.

Formación

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to retail, commercial or customer sites is advantageous, though full training can be provided.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver goods to retail stores on a dedicated contract using curtain side, tail lift, and box trailers.
• Typically 1 to 3 drops per shift to keep deliveries on schedule.
• Ensure loads are safely restrained using straps, nets, and secure equipment.
• Safely operate electric‑assisted pallet trucks and carry out manual handling when required.
• Manage trailer movements and return trailers for servicing after each shift.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and communicate with transport office to update delivery progress.

About The Role

• Deliver goods to retail stores on a dedicated contract using curtain side, tail lift, and box trailers, while returning store waste to the depot.
• Enjoy a manageable delivery schedule with typically 1 to 3 drops per shift, keeping deliveries on schedule and customers satisfied.
• Ensure all loads are safely and securely restrained using straps, nets, and appropriate securing equipment to prevent movement or damage during transit.
• Safely operate electric‑assisted pallet trucks and carry out manual handling for cage‑based deliveries when required, ensuring efficient and safe unloading at customer sites.
• Manage trailer movements, including the collection and return of trailers for servicing at the end of each shift.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top‑notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport office to provide updates on delivery progress and respond to any changes or issues in real time.
• Represent the company professionally at every delivery point, ensuring excellent customer service and building strong relationships with store teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and development, including refresher courses and updates on industry regulations, to keep your skills sharp and compliant.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to retail, commercial or customer sites is advantageous, although full training can be provided.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and build positive relationships with customers.
• Be capable of working to planned schedules and delivery deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
• Bring a positive, reliable and team‑focused approach, with the confidence to work independently when required.
• Have good geographical awareness and the ability to navigate routes efficiently across the UK.
