Overview

We are seeking to recruit a Claims Technician to join the EMEA Service team in Ipswich! This position will require daily interaction with other colleagues in Ipswich, London, Mumbai, and other regional offices, as well as with our clients and carriers. Travel to London may be required at times. The business unit handles proportional and non-proportional reinsurance contracts for our clients based across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

How you'll make an impact

1. Analyse all technical claims/treaty documentation received from clients ensuring compliance with contractual conditions and where necessary assist with the preparation of these documents for / with the client, resolving any queries where appropriate.
2. Processing and monitoring of Client figures into our systems in line with specified key performance indicators and contractual conditions.
3. Prepare presentations for client and markets including assisting our Placement Support team with providing renewal information, statistics and any technical advice as required.
4. Complete and implement client's cash call instructions in a timely manner and communicate relevant information as needed to acquire timely agreement.
5. Manage and resolve queries from clients and reinsurers, seeking assistance as the need arises ensuring escalation where necessary and resolution with minimum delay.
6. Build, develop and maintain strong client, third party and reinsurer relationships with assigned portfolio, liaising closely with Client Service Manager and/or Operations Director along with our Overseas offices as necessary.
7. Work closely with Placement Support and own team to ensure effective delivery of client service to Gallagher Re clients.
8. Ensure internal, client and market correspondence is stored on E-filing and necessary documents linked to our internal system Open Twins.
9. Support Accounting and Settlement associates to ensure that all financial aspects are handled in a timely manner for the secure, efficient and auditable handling of client monies.
10. Perform Second Pair Of Eyes (SPOE) checks at relevant stages in the process and ensure all sanctions touch-points are identified and approved where necessary.

About You

1. Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
2. CII qualifications or studying towards would be beneficial.
3. Reinsurance or Industry knowledge with a strong claims background.
4. Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office).
5. Good communication skills (Written and Verbal).
6. Attention to detail.
7. Ability to organise and prioritise.
8. Ability to work in a team and autonomously; and general willingness to learn and grow.
9. Ability to build strong working relationships with both clients and brokers.
10. Good time management skills.
11. Eligible to work in the UK.
