Job summary

Red-Recruitment is working with a Bristol-based international law firm to recruit a Claims Team Manager for Bristol City Centre. The role oversees a team of Claims Handlers and provides coaching, regulatory compliance, and process improvement across claims operations.

The ideal candidate will have 10–15 years in claims, demonstrable line management experience, and a client-focused approach, with a view to maintaining high service levels and strong insurer relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–15 years in claims with technical expertise.
• Proven line management or team leadership experience.
• Strong experience with insurer clients and building relationships.
• Understanding of claims processes, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Claims Handlers, Senior and Technical Claims Handlers.
• Manage workload, resources and capacity across the team.
• Act as key contact for insurer clients and manage client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs, KPIs and Delegated Authority arrangements.
• Oversee MI quality, reporting and case management standards.
• Deliver coaching, training and technical support to the team.
• Conduct audits and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
• Identify trends, manage risk and escalate issues where appropriate.
• Prepare and chair stakeholder meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes and service delivery.
