AEGIS London is seeking a Claims Operations Manager on a fixed term maternity cover to lead our claims operations and vendor oversight. The role drives performance, data management and regulatory reporting within a collaborative, market-leading team.

The ideal candidate will bring Lloyd's and London Market systems experience, strong leadership, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while maintaining high standards of accuracy and service delivery. Hybrid working arrangements apply.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Lloyd's and London Market systems (ECF, writeback, Lloyd's Claims Reporting Suite, Gemini, Voult, Bill Review IQ).
  • Strong external network and ability to leverage contacts for AEGIS London.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; confident presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team; develop and retain talent.
  • Attention to detail; analyse data to provide meaningful insights.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities to achieve outcomes.
  • Dip CII / ACII qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day claims operations to deliver a leading service aligned with AEGIS London's strategy.
  • Coordinate workload of the Claims Operations Assistant and support team.
  • Collaborate with IT to identify and implement claims-related IT solutions.
  • Monitor performance trends, regulatory changes and market developments.
  • Ensure accurate data management, reporting and timely submission of regulatory reports.
  • Lead vendor oversight meetings with third-party providers.
  • Take on ad hoc projects as they arise and drive continuous improvement.

Purpose of the Role

We are currently seeking a Claims Operations Manager on a Fixed Term Contract basis (Maternity Cover) to join our well-established and market-leading Claims team. This individual will have overall responsibility for managing claims operations, third party service providers and performance oversight of the Claims Department.. This position is ideal for an experienced, confident, driven and well-connected individual, who is looking to take on new responsibilities within a dynamic, high-performing Syndicate.

Duties and Accountabilities
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the claims operations function to deliver a leading claims service, in accordance with AEGIS London's strategy and standards
  • Manage the workload and tasks assigned to Claims Operations Assistant
  • Work with members of the IT department to identify and implement IT solutions in support of the claims strategy
  • Monitor claims performance trends, issues and movements, as well as relevant legal/regulatory changes and Market developments
  • Responsible for claims data management, reporting and delivery to the Claims Department
  • Preparation and submission of regulatory reporting where required
  • Work in conjunction with the Claims Managers, sharing knowledge and skills where appropriate, to ensure the Claims team is working as efficiently as possible
  • Lead third party outsourcing vendor oversight meetings
  • Undertake, lead on and/or oversee other ad hoc tasks or projects as they arise
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Have proven experience in dealing with Lloyd's and London Market systems (e.g. ECF, writeback, Lloyd's Claims Reporting Suite, Gemini, Voult, Bill Review IQ)
  • Have a strong external network and able to utilise those contacts for the benefit of AEGIS
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication, and confident when presenting in different environments
  • Be able to effectively motivate and manage their team whilst identifying, developing and retaining talent
  • Have excellent attention to detail and able to analyse and leverage data in order to provide meaningful insight
  • Be confident when dealing with ambiguity, knowing when to shift focus and priorities to ensure a successful outcome
  • Be part Dip CII / ACII qualified or working towards Dip CII / ACII (desirable but not essential)
