Job Description

Are you a Claims Handler with knowledge or experience in handling Casualty Claims and passionate about working for the largest property and casualty insurer in the world, with offices in 54 countries and an excellent employee benefits package?

We have an opportunity for a Claims Handler, preferably with Casualty experience, to join our Claims department in Glasgow. We offer excellent training to help you manage a portfolio of up to 300 casualty claims, including Employer’s Liability, Product Liability, and some motor claims. The role involves engaging with stakeholders such as policyholders, brokers, Loss Adjusters, and Panel solicitors, and attending review meetings as needed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess a range of simple and complex claims, evaluating liability and quantum, including special investigations and recovery efforts.
2. Identify customer complaints and expressions of dissatisfaction, handling issues effectively or escalating as appropriate.
3. Negotiate claim settlements, ensuring high customer care standards and professional service.
4. Engage with stakeholders and clients for fair investigation of claims and participate in audits when required.

Qualifications

• Previous claim handling experience.
• Experience in the Insurance sector is preferred but not essential.
• Experience with Casualty Claims is advantageous.
• Strong customer service, communication, and IT skills.
• Experience in a commercial insurance claims environment is beneficial.
