Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking a property claims handler in Glasgow to manage a portfolio of property claims through to settlement, ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs. You will review policy documents, gather information, and support policyholders throughout the process.

Responsibilities include examining claims, updating the management system, liaising with providers, and maintaining regulatory compliance. A strong client service mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing General Insurance Claims.
  • Awareness of Insurance Contracts Act/FSRA legislation.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Team player.
  • High typing speed.
  • Client service focus.
  • High level literacy & adequate numeracy skills.
  • Word Processing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain expected case load of property claims.
  • Examine claims forms, policies and endorsements to determine coverage.
  • Investigate claims through office-based analysis, interviews, and evidence comparison.
  • Provide support and advice to policyholders regarding claims.
  • Prepare first reports by collecting and summarising information.
  • Where possible settle claims after determining liability and authority.
  • Type client reports accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to insurer SLAs and processes.
  • Update Claims Management System as required.
  • Coordinate with service/product replacement providers.
  • Comply with SLAs and KPIs.
  • Maintain company reputation and product integrity by complying with laws and standards.
  • Process daily outgoing mail promptly.
  • Archive and retrieve files as needed.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through education.
  • Assist other offices during catastrophes as required.

Job Description

Manage a portfolio of property claims to conclusion, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and meeting key performance indicators.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining expected case load of property claims.
  • Examining claims forms, policies and endorsements, client instructions and other records to determine coverage.
  • Investigating claims by conducting office-based analysis of physical damage details, interviewing claimants, and comparing claim information with evidence.
  • Providing support and advice to policy holders with respect to their claims
  • Preparing first reports by collecting and summarising information required.
  • Where possible settling claims after determining liability, client’s instructions, and authority levels.
  • Type client reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Adhere to insurer client Service Level Agreements and processes.
  • Update Claims Management System as required.
  • Effectively deal with service/product replacement providers.
  • Comply with and maintain Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Maintaining company reputation and insurance product integrity by complying with federal and state regulations and service standards.
  • Process daily outgoing mail in a timely manner.
  • Archive files and retrieve archived files on request.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
  • Providing assistance to other offices in the event of a Catastrophe, as required.
Qualifications
