Zurich 56 Company Ltd in Glasgow is seeking a customer-focused Claims Handler to join our UK General Insurance Claims Team. The role offers flexible working patterns including part-time, job share, or full-time, with hybrid working after training.
You will support brokers, solicitors, and suppliers, delivering empathetic service and effective negotiation. No prior claims experience required; the ideal candidate has excellent communication, strong case management, and attention to detail.

You don’t need to have worked as a Claims Handler before, what you do need is the ability to deliver exceptional customer service through strong communication, relationship management and effective negotiation skills.
We currently have opportunities across both Motor and Casualty claims, offering a varied and engaging environment where no two days are the same.
Our Claims function is the largest department in our UK General Insurance business, and it plays a critical role in ensuring customers receive an efficient, professional, and empathetic service. Joining such a big team means there is always opportunities to learn, grow and develop your career, such as fully funded insurance qualification programmes and allotted development days each month.
To help you become the best you can be, we providecomprehensive training that includes 5 weeks in a classroom environment and 4 weeks buddy support. Once our formal training is complete, we’ll provide a supportive learning environment so you can confidently continue with your career as a Claims Handler.
Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
Working as a Claims Handler, you will be an integral part of our business, supporting brokers, solicitors and suppliers. This role is not about getting through calls quickly – it is about understanding the caller’s needs and delivering a great outcome. We also want you to have the ability be able to play an active role in shaping our business, suggesting, and getting involved in how we can improve!
Our full-time working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am – 6pm. No weekends, late nights, or bank holiday working, we also offer a hybrid working model so once you’re up to speed you can work from home if you prefer, up to 50% of the time.
You don’t need to have worked in insurance or as a Claims Handler before, what you will need is excellent communication skills. Additionally, you will require good case management and workload management skills.
