Qualifications

• NRSWA (Units 1-3) minimum required.
• CSCS card is essential for site access.
• Cat & Genny certification where applicable.
• 360 degrees machine operator ticket required.
• Dumper operator ticket required.
• Valid driving licence in current use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health and safety for self and others on site.
• Carry out safety checks on vehicles, plant and sites.
• Protect the environment and prevent contamination to water sources.
• Excavate holes using safe methods to protect underground services.
• Move materials, plant and equipment as needed.
• Drive company vehicles for authorised work duties.
• Operate mobile plant for authorised purposes.
• Keep site, vehicles and equipment tidy and secure.
• Install and maintain roadworks to Chapter 8 standards.
• Assist public, clients' representatives and officials as required.
• Maintain safety, environmental and quality records.
• Report accidents, near misses, faults or damages promptly.

Purpose

To be responsible for the installation of mains and services to required standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain own and others health and safety
• Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed
• Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
• Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus
• Manhandle materials, plant and equipment
• Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes
• Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes
• Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
• Install and maintain road works to 'Chapter 8' standard
• Assist members of the public, clients' representatives and other officials in relation to Company business
• Maintain safety, environmental and quality records
• Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation
• Undertake any other reasonable instructions given by management or supervision
