Job summary

Glanville Environmental is seeking a proactive Planner to join the Reactive Civils Team in Exeter or Plymouth. You will coordinate operations across multiple teams, manage resources, and maintain schedules to support timely project delivery.

Ideal candidates will have planning/co-ordination experience, excellent communication, and the ability to multi-task under pressure. This permanent, full-time role offers a competitive salary plus benefits and scope for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in a planning, scheduling, or coordination role (construction, civils, utilities, or similar preferred).
• Good telephone manner and clear written/verbal communication.
• Proactive, self-directed, and well-organised with the ability to multi-task.
• Dynamic and proactive in supporting project team delivery.
• Team player with strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and prioritise works in line with operational demands and risk categories.
• Coordinate resources, including operatives, plant, traffic management, and subcontractors.
• Allocate and manage jobs through internal management systems.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules for operational visibility.
• Liaise with operational teams to support delivery of works.
• Manage Streetworks notices and permits, ensuring compliance and avoiding fines.
• Monitor progress, resolve scheduling conflicts, and report performance.
• Produce reports using Microsoft and other planning systems.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Microsoft Teams meetings.
• Provide administrative and planning support to the wider business.
