Job summary

Henley Chase in Farnborough, Hampshire, is recruiting an experienced Civils Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction business. You will prepare estimates and tenders for civils and groundworks, review drawings, carry out take-offs, price labour and materials, and support cost planning and procurement across projects.

The role also involves liaising with clients, subcontractors, and site teams to manage costs from tender through to completion.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor or Estimator/QS.
• Strong background in civils, groundworks or civil engineering.
• Experience pricing tenders and analysing subcontractor quotations.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Civils Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Location: Farnborough, Hampshire

We are looking for an experienced Civils Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction business based in Farnborough, Hampshire.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure who enjoys working across both estimating and commercial functions.

The Role

• Preparing accurate estimates and tenders for civils and groundworks projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Completing detailed take-offs and measurements
• Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages
• Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Preparing bills of quantities and tender returns
• Supporting the commercial team with cost planning and procurement
• Managing project costs from tender through to completion
• Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
• Monitoring project expenditure and commercial performance
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Attending site visits and tender meetings where required
• Maintaining accurate estimating and cost information

About You

• Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor or Estimator/QS
• Strong background in civils, groundworks or civil engineering
• Good understanding of construction costs, measurements and procurement
• Experience pricing tenders and analysing subcontractor quotations
• Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
• Confident communicating with clients, suppliers and site teams
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tenders/projects
• Full UK driving licence preferred
