Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Civils CAD Technician to join a close-knit team at Standing Stone, Matfen, Northumberland. You will take concept designs through to detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software, supporting multiple civils projects for major UK utility clients.

The role requires 5+ years in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation, with knowledge of surveying and site data. A full driving licence and proactive approach to process improvement are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Civil 3D / MicroStation
• Knowledge of surveying techniques and handling site survey data
• Experience with security, access control and CCTV & alarm systems is preferable

Responsibilities

• Prepare, produce, develop and amend drawings to standards and deadlines
• Draw and develop site layouts, GA drawings, steel structure drawings, diagrams and schedules
• Provide technical support to on-site technicians
• Revise drawings and red-line markups
• Liaise with Stakeholders across teams and projects
• Attend occasional site surveys

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the UK's largest Utility companies across the UK, to join as an ambitious Civils CAD Technician and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth. ROLE: CIVILS CAD TECHNCIAN / CIVILS CAD ENGINEER Office Base - Standing Stone, Matfen, Northumberland, NE20 0RQ. HOURS: Monday to Friday- 8.30am to 5.00pm As an experienced Civils CAD Technician, you will be working as part of a close knit-team, taking concept designs through to detailed manufacturing drawings using your knowledge of AutoCAD Software and other software platforms as well as experience of working on a wide variety of civils projects. Your main duties as the Civils CAD Technician will be to: . Prepare, produce, develop and amend drawings in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures and in line with the agreed timescales and deadlines. . Draw and develop site layouts and GA drawings, steel structure drawings, block diagrams, single line diagrams, cable routing and wiring diagrams, assembly and part drawings and associated schedules. . Provide Technical support to on-site technicians. . Revise drawings and red-line markups appropriately. . Liaise and communicate effectively with Stakeholders, across various teams and discipline groups, across various projects. . Be proactive in streamlining and automating drawing and engineering processes and propose improvement ideas. . Attend occasional site surveys.

Key Skills:

• HNC/HND/BTec in Engineering (Civils). Experience in reinforced concrete (RC) detailing. Knowledge of surveying techniques and handling site survey data. Experience using 3D scanner technology and cloud point manipulation (preferable). Knowledge of HV/LV distribution systems and electrical building systems (preferable). Experience in Security, Access Control and CCTV & Alarm Systems (preferable). A good knowledge of civil engineering design principles. At least 5 years' experience in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Civil 3D/ MicroStation Experience in 3D modelling software (Autodesk Revit preferable). Proficient in producing intelligent library blocks with attributes for data extraction. Proficient in CAD data file management and drawing management procedures. Good attention to detail, working in a fast-paced environment. Competent Microsoft Office user. Full Driving License.
