Job summary

Carrington West is partnering with an established transport planning and infrastructure design consultancy to recruit a Civil Engineer/Technician/Apprentice. You will work on infrastructure projects, mentored by Principal Engineers, gaining exposure from feasibility through to construction on site.

You will contribute to design deliveries, produce professional planning reports, and develop CAD drawings while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team across varied sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in level strategies for highways, earthworks and plot design.
• Experience with Civil 3D, Site3D is advantageous.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team or on large scale projects.
• HNC/BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong desire to progress towards professional registration (ICE).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and delivery of infrastructure projects, from concept to completion.
• Prepare clear, professional reports to support planning applications and technical submissions.
• Produce and manage high quality CAD drawings.
• Draft technical specifications and design documentation.
• Work closely with clients, gaining early exposure and responsibility to client facing roles.
• Collaborate with senior staff, gaining guidance and mentorship while ensuring company and client goals are met.

3D Civils Technician / Engineer

My client is an established specialist transport planning and infrastructure design consultancy with a proven track record of securing planning permission for a wide variety of developments across the UK. Their projects span the residential, leisure, commercial, retail, healthcare, and heritage sectors, delivering practical and sustainable solutions for clients such as the National Trust, Greene King, Premier Inn, NHS, Berkeley Homes, and Aspire. They pride ourselves on delivering cost-effective, innovative, and sustainable design solutions, working closely with clients to achieve successful outcomes at every stage of the development journey, from feasibility and land promotion through to planning applications, detailed design, construction supervision, and travel plan coordination.

The Infrastructure Team

Specialising in drainage, highways, and plot design, their expanding infrastructure team works alongside transport planning specialists to offer clients a fully integrated service. They are committed to giving infrastructure design the attention and creativity it deserves, ensuring their work remains at the forefront of engineering practice.

The Role

We're looking for a Civil Engineer/ Technician / Apprentice with some previous experience who is enthusiastic about developing their skills and making a real impact on exciting, varied projects. You'll work alongside and be mentored by experienced Principal Engineers, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility studies through to detailed design and construction on site.

• Experience with Civil 3D, Site3D, (Advantageous).
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team or on large scale projects.
• HNC/BEng/MEng (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• A strong desire to progress towards professional registration (e.g., ICE).
