Solid Talent is seeking a Civil & Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) Engineer for a hybrid/remote role based in Cheshire, West Yorkshire or Nottinghamshire. The position offers full-time permanent employment with opportunities to work on diverse developments and water management schemes across the UK.

You will design SuDS, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with UK regulations while supporting flood risk strategies.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in drainage design and SuDS.
Proficiency with drainage modelling tools (MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Causeway FLOW, Civil 3D or Site3D).
Desirable: knowledge of UK SuDS legislation and planning policies.

Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) & Flood Risk Engineer Permanent Full-Time

Location

Hybrid/Remote based in Cheshire, West Yorkshire or Nottinghamshire

We are looking for a passionate SuDS Engineer to join a growing team delivering resilient urban environments. You will design SuDS for diverse developments, collaborate on practical drainage solutions, and develop flood risk strategies. They will provide full support toward achieving your ICE or CIWEM chartership.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

Designing and delivering sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) for residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical drainage solutions
Ensuring all designs meet regulatory requirements and specific client needs
Developing flood risk assessments and rainwater management strategies
Working toward professional chartership with ICE or CIWEM with company support

Experiences required

Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
Proven experience in drainage design and SuDS principles; Civils Design experience is desirable
Proficiency with drainage and modelling tools (e.g. MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Causeway FLOW, Civil 3D, or Site3D)
Experience in Flood Risk assessment
Desirable: Solid understanding of UK SuDS legislation, planning policies, and standards (e.g., CIRIA C753)
Desirable: Experience with Highways/2D hydraulic modelling, or preparing Section Agreements (S104, S38, S278)
