Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join our UK office network across Stockton, Newcastle, Bristol, and more. You will lead civil/structural design activities, ensure quality and standards, and collaborate with clients and cross-discipline teams in a hybrid working environment.

The role requires a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, experience leading projects, and expertise with AutoCAD and Revit. We offer growth, flexible hours, and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or demonstrable equivalent underpinning knowledge.
• Experience in civil and structural design with direct influence over outcomes.
• Proven ability to lead projects of varying size and complexity, managing technical, budget, programme and resources.
• Expert in AutoCAD and Revit, able to work unsupervised.
• Knowledge of British Standards and CDM regs.
• Experience detailing reinforced concrete and structural steelwork.
• Able to work effectively as part of a cross-discipline design team.

Responsibilities

• Technical quality and excellence of your work and that of junior staff to ensure delivery meets scope, time, cost and quality.
• Project planning, delivery and financial performance of your work and that of junior staff.
• Communication with clients and design team members to provide technical input and justification.
• Provide technical guidance and development of junior designers.
• Develop and deliver design documents and solutions.
• Chair and facilitate meetings including progress and design reviews.
• Independent work during delivery of complex engineering activities.
• Ensure compliance with business and quality management systems.
• Coordinate and supervise surveys and assessments.
