Job summary

Amentum in the UK is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer for a hybrid role across our office network, including Gloucester. You will lead design delivery, coordinate with clients and other designers, and ensure quality, schedule and budget adherence.

Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit, and knowledge of BS standards and CDM regs, are essential. This role offers hybrid working and clear progression within a global engineering organisation.

Due to continued growth are currently seeking Civil Structural & Engineers to join our team, these positions support hybrid working and can be based across our office network within the UK – Stockton, Newcastle, Bristol, Gloucester, Glasgow, Westlakes and Warrington.

As a Civil Structural Engineer your responsibilities could include:

• Technical quality and excellence of your work and the work of those working under you to ensure engineering delivery meets scope, time, cost and quality
• Project planning, delivery and financial performance of your work and that of junior staff
• Communication with clients and other design team members to provide technical input and justification
• Technical and professional guidance, support and development of more junior designers
• Responsible for the development and delivery of design documents and solutions
• Chair and facilitate technical and non-technical meetings including progress meetings and design reviews
• Independent and autonomous work during the delivery of complex engineering activities
• Be fully conversant with business and quality management systems and actively encourage compliance within team.
• Co-ordinate & supervise surveys (condition, measurement etc) & assessments

Here’s What You’ll Need

• Degree qualified in Civil/Structural engineering or demonstrable equivalent underpinning knowledge and understanding
• Experience in a civil and structural design role having direct influence over design practices and outcomes
• Proven ability to Lead projects of varying size and complexity, managing technical aspects as well as quality, budget, programme and resources
• Expert in the use of the latest version of AutoCAD, Revit and associated software, with the ability to work unsupervised
• Knowledge and understanding of British Standards and CDM regs
• Experience in detailing of reinforced concrete and structural steelwork
• Ability to work effectively as a team member liaising directly with clients and other cross discipline design team members
• Awareness of applicable codes and safety legislation and how they should be applied
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and report writing skills
