Civil & Structural Designer - Gas Projects

Location: Warrington

We have extensive experience in offshore and onshore facilities; specialising in asset management services throughout all life cycle phases from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.

The Role:

• Supporting the Project Design Lead / Lead Civil and Structural (C&S) Engineer, responsible for the production of C&S design deliverables within single discipline, multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projects.
• Projects will range from Concept Design to Execution Design across different sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Food), small and large projects, and greenfield and brownfield.
• Responsible for carrying out all design activities using initiative to the agreed timescales and budget.
• Participate in internal and external design reviews supporting the Project Design Lead & Lead Civil and Structural Engineer.
• Interpret general arrangement drawings and scopes of work, developing them into Engineering designs.
• Responsible C&S designer for one project or a portfolio of projects depending on size and complexity.
• Identify changes to the design scope and report to the Project Design Lead & Lead Engineer, providing support to the management of the change process.
• Drive quality in all Engineering designs, including checking discipline design deliverables to company procedures.

Your profile

If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you:

• More than 5 years of experience as a C&S designer in Engineering / EPCM / EPC company.
• Deep knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Advance Steel or similar.
• Sound knowledge of C&S engineering and design, with an understanding of other disciplines (EC&I, Mechanical, Piping, and Process).
• HNC / HND in Civil / Structural Engineering (Preferred).
• Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician Qualification (Preferred).
• Produce and develop design deliverables including 3D models, GA drawings, steel detailing, reinforced concrete detailing, and relevant schedules.
• Experience with temporary works designs (Preferred).
• Assist in site surveys of existing assets and production of site survey reports.
• Experienced with laser scanning and production of detailed models from scans (Preferred).
• Result-oriented; satisfaction achieved only after design approval by the Project Design Lead.
• Liaise closely with project team to ensure correct deliverables are being worked on.
• Assist Engineers with the production of design deliverables.
• Sound understanding of current British / European Standards and Eurocodes.
• Opportunity to teach and coach younger C&S designers.
