Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Civil & Structural Designer to work for one of our clients based in Warrington, UK.

We have both contract and staff positions available. (Inside IR35)

The Role

Supporting the Project Design Lead / Lead Civil and Structural (C&S) Engineer, you will be responsible for producing C&S design deliverables within single-discipline and multi-discipline engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects. These projects will range from Concept Design to Execution Design and will span various sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Food), including both small and large projects, as well as greenfield and brownfield sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all design activities using your initiative to meet agreed timescales and budget.
• Participate in internal and external design reviews, supporting the Project Design Lead & Lead Civil and Structural Engineer.
• Interpret general arrangement drawings and scopes of work, developing them into engineering designs.
• Depending on size and complexity, you may be the responsible C&S designer for one project or a portfolio of projects.
• Identify changes to the design scope and report them to the Project Design Lead & Lead Engineer, supporting the management of the change process.
• Drive quality in all engineering designs, including checking discipline design deliverables to company procedures.

Your Profile

If you have the following profile, we look forward to meeting you:

• More than 5 years of experience as a C&S designer in single-discipline and multi-discipline projects within an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company in one of the mentioned sectors.
• Deep knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Advance Steel, or similar software, and capable of carrying out designs without supervision.
• Sound knowledge of C&S engineering and design, as well as other disciplines (EC&I, Mechanical, Piping, and Process).
• HNC / HND in Civil / Structural Engineering.
• Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician Qualification.
• Ability to produce and develop design deliverables including 3D models, GA drawings, steel detailing, reinforced concrete detailing, and relevant schedules.
• Experience with temporary works designs.
• Ability to assist in the delivery of site surveys of existing assets, including the production of site survey reports.
• Experience with laser scanning and the production of detailed models from scans.
• Result-oriented, with a 'one time right' mentality, ensuring designs are approved by the Project Design Lead.
• Ability to liaise and work closely with your project team to ensure correct deliverables.
• Sound understanding of current British / European Standards, Eurocodes, and EN1090, etc.
• If you are an experienced designer, you will have the pleasure of teaching and coaching the next of C&S designers.
