DATS Recruitment Ltd in Fleetwood is seeking an experienced Civil Surveyor and Setting Out Engineer for a major construction project. The role combines civil surveying with setting out duties on site, with an immediate start and a 12-month contract.

You will work with design and site teams, manage measurements, verify drawings, and maintain survey records to ensure accurate delivery and safety compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Civil Surveyor and setting-out engineer.
• Previous Setting Out Engineer experience.
• Earthworks experience is essential.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

Civil Surveyor / Setting Out Engineer

Fleetwood Area

Up to £50.00 per hour | Outside IR35

12-Month Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Surveyor/Civil Site Engineer who is also capable of undertaking Setting Out Engineer duties on a major construction project in the Fleetwood area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a project at the pre-construction stage, offering a long-term contract with the potential for further extensions.

The role has been assessed as Outside IR35, making it suitable for self-employed contractors. CIS payment arrangements can also be accommodated.

The Role

Working closely with both the design and site teams, you will initially support the project through its pre-construction phase before undertaking a dual role involving both civil surveying and setting out activities.

This position requires a hands‑on individual who is comfortable operating across both disciplines and can effectively coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure works are delivered accurately and efficiently.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Valid CSCS Card
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
