Job summary

VANRATH is seeking a Quantity Surveyor-Civils in Belfast to manage project costs, budgets, and final accounts on sizable civil engineering schemes. The role requires experience with JCT/NEC contracts and a proactive, independent on-site approach.

You will procure supply chain partners, assess interim payments, support valuations, and manage change processes while ensuring health & safety standards are met. Travel to sites will be frequent.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience in civil construction projects, familiar with JCT & NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisational, numerical, and IT skills.
• Ability to work independently and on site with frequent travel.
• Proven ability to manage project costs, contracts, and change processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, prepare budgets, and final account submissions.
• Procure supply chain partners and assess subcontractor interim payments.
• Support valuation, variations, and change management processes.
• Assist with claims for Extension of Time and Loss & Expense submissions.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and health & safety standards.
• Build strong relationships with operational and commercial teams to drive project success.
