Job summary

Caval Limited is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join a major civil engineering project in Retford, Nottinghamshire on a long-term freelance contract. The role focuses on delivering QA/QC on a large-scale site, with responsibilities spanning inspections, documentation, and adherence to project specs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong civil engineering background, experience with ITPs and quality procedures, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a QA Engineer within civil engineering.
• Strong civil engineering/construction background.
• Experience on large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of QA and QC procedures.
• Experience with ITPs, inspections and quality documentation.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specs.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Relevant site qualifications and CSCS as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of project quality procedures.
• Carry out inspections and quality checks.
• Manage and maintain quality documentation and records.
• Work with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specs and project requirements.
• Identify and report quality issues and support corrective actions.
• Liaise with site management, engineers, subcontractors and project teams.
• Support the overall delivery of quality standards across the project.
