Job summary

Caval Limited is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join a major civil engineering project on a long-term freelance basis in Retford. The role focuses on delivering quality across works on a large construction site, with responsibilities spanning inspections, documentation, and adherence to drawings and specifications.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong civil engineering background and proven QA/QC experience on large projects, with CSCS and relevant site qualifications as applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience as QA Engineer within civil engineering or major construction
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures on large-scale projects
• Experience with ITPs, inspections and quality documentation
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
• Site qualifications (CSCS) as applicable

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of project quality procedures
• Carry out inspections and quality checks
• Maintain quality documentation and records
• Work with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Ensure works comply with drawings and specifications
• Identify and report quality issues and support corrective actions
• Liaise with site management, engineers, subcontractors and project teams
• Support delivery of quality standards across the project
