Job summary

Parker Jones Group Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial performance on major civil engineering projects. You will manage costs, administer contracts, value on-site works and lead subcontractor negotiations.

Applicants should have NEC contract experience, strong commercial acumen, and proficiency in Excel. A full UK driving licence is desirable for site visits and coordinating with project teams across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and Change Management.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs and commercial performance from commencement through to final account.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements.
• Measure and value works completed on site.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations and applications for payment.
• Manage change control, variations, compensation events, and claims.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Prepare and present commercial reports to senior management.
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients.
• Support procurement activities and subcontractor management.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
• Assist in dispute resolution and final account negotiations.
