Job summary

Lanes Group is a leading utility services provider recruiting a Civils Operative for Sapphire Utility Solutions in Aldwarke, Rotherham. You will assist civil engineering and drainage works, carrying out groundwork tasks, trenching, pipe installation and site maintenance on site.

The role offers 47.5 hours weekly at £14.00–£15.50 per hour with overtime at time and a half. A Full UK driving licence and civils background are required, with strong health and safety practices a must.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Civils background preferably in Utilities.
• Good communication and teamwork on site.
• Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Able to identify and report defects, hazards and issues proactively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out groundwork tasks such as digging trenches, laying pipes, spot repairs and preparing surfaces for construction.
• Install and maintain over-pumping systems and maintain safe excavations with installation of ground support
• Updating and completing site documentation using electronic tablet
• Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently to assist with various tasks
• Perform daily vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness
• Maintain equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
