Job summary

Lanes Group is hiring a Civils Operative at Low Moor, Bradford. You will support civil engineering and drainage works, perform groundwork tasks and operate site equipment in a safety‑conscious environment.

Candidate must hold a Full UK driving licence and have a civils background. The role offers a 47.5 hour week with overtime at time and a half and pays £14.00–£15.50 per hour. Training and compliance with health and safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Civils background ideally from Utilities.
• Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to identify and report defects, hazards and issues in a proactive manner.

Responsibilities

• Carry out groundwork tasks such as digging trenches, laying pipes and preparing surfaces for construction.
• Install and maintain pumping systems and ensure safe excavations with ground support.
• Update and complete site documentation using an electronic tablet.
• Operate machinery and tools safely to assist with tasks.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
