Job summary

NRL Ltd. is seeking experienced Civil General Operatives to support a major project in Scunthorpe. This temporary role is suited for individuals with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks or utilities who will contribute to safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities include preparing work areas, handling materials, assisting civil trades, and ensuring site safety. Overtime rates apply, and duration is 3–4 months with ASAP start.

Qualifications

• CSCS or CCNSG card is required.
• Experience in civil engineering, groundworks, utilities, or construction.
• Ability to follow site instructions and work in a team.
• Good physical fitness and strong awareness of site safety.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools, materials and processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas, clear debris, and assist with temporary works.
• Safely handle and store materials through manual handling or basic plant.
• Assist civil trades such as groundworkers, steel fixers and machine operators.
• Perform labouring tasks including digging, backfilling, and compacting.
• Follow HSE regulations, maintain PPE use, report hazards and uphold site safety.
• Operate small tools (such as wackers, saws, breakers) if trained, ensuring tools remain in good condition.
• Maintain tidy working areas and clear access routes.
• Carry out instructions from supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
