Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in North Wales is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our civil engineering team, supporting the preparation and submission of competitive tenders across infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with commercial, engineering and operations teams to develop accurate estimates, review drawings and specifications, and identify value opportunities.

This role requires a proactive, detail‑oriented communicator with strong numeracy and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in estimating within civil engineering or construction.
• Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Review tender documentation, drawings and technical specifications.
• Produce accurate costings and assess project requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost savings.
• Liaise with internal teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure tenders are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.
• Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.
