Job summary

Reed is seeking a Civils Estimator in Warrington to join a leading multi-discipline civil engineering contractor. You will provide comprehensive tender estimates, manage risk analysis, and lead discussions with suppliers to secure competitive bids.

The role involves site visits, pre-tender discussions, and handover to contract teams. A background in civil estimating and familiarity with NEC/JCT contracts are valued assets for progression within the team.

Qualifications

• HND/C in Civil Engineering and 2+ years estimating experience.
• Experience forming bills of quantities from drawings.
• Proficient with Conquest Series Q and MS Excel/Word/Project.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive estimating service for projects, controlling either an assigned project or a portfolio.
• Identify risks from initial analysis of project documentation.
• Prepare tender estimates from first principles using Conquest and supplier quotes.
• Conduct site visits as required for tender to assess site complexities.
• Lead discussions with suppliers/subcontractors during the tender process.
• Attend pre/post-tender meetings with clients’ designated personnel.
• Handover tender elements to contract/commercial teams before signing.
• Stay updated on inflation, exchange rates and projected costs.
• Obtain feedback from site teams on estimating adequacy and current costs.
