Amey is offering a Civil Engineering Summer Placement in Cardiff within the CAFA team of the Transport Infrastructure Business Unit. You will work 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 9:00-17:00) with occasional weekend site work and a July 2027 start date.
The role provides exposure to railway structure assessments and potential progression to the Graduate Pathway after graduation. You will gain hands-on experience in numerical analyses, bridge inspections, and technical reporting while contributing

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Civil Engineering Summer Placement to join our CAFA team within Amey's Transport Infrastructure Business Unit, based in Cardiff.
Salary: £12.71 per hour (Subject to review)
Working hours per week: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, 37.5 hours per week. Occasional weekend site work may be classed as overtime.
Start date: July 2027

As part of our Structures Assessment Team based in Crawley, York, Liverpool orCardiff, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a national team that undertakes the structural assessment and inspections of a wide variety of railway structures, from bridgescarrying trains over roads and waterways, to highway and footbridges crossing the railway, as well as station canopies and train sheds. These structures are part of the heritage of our country, and we need to ensure that they are safe to meet today’s needs as well as tomorrow’s.
