Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Civil Engineer Graduate to join the CAFA team, based in Crawley, with a structured two-year Graduate Pathway and guaranteed permanent position on completion. You'll undertake numerical analysis and inspections of railway structures, supported by mentoring and opportunities to gain a professional qualification.

The role includes a starting salary of £30,000 per annum and a standard 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Full UK driving licence and PTS are required.
• Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing.
• Graduate pathway with mentoring and professional qualification support.

• Propose strengthening and maintenance options.
• Plan and undertake bridge inspections to confirm structural details and condition.

Starting Salary : £30,000.00 per annum (Subject to review)

Working hours per week: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, 37.5 hours per week. Occasional weekend site work may be classed as overtime.

About the team:

Join our supportive and inclusive team within CAFA, where you will work on projects that make a real difference to communities across the UK.

As part of our Structures Assessment Team based in Liverpool, York, Crawley or Cardiff, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a national team that undertakes the inspections and structural assessment of a wide variety of railway structures, from bridges carrying trains over roads and waterways, to highway and footbridges crossing the railway, as well as station canopies and train sheds. These structures are part of the heritage of our country, and we need to ensure that they are safe to meet today’s needs as well as tomorrow’s.

What you will do:

• Full UK driving licence.
• Personal Track Safety (PTS) requirement.
• Applicants must pass a PTS Medical for this role.
