Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley offers a 12-month placement for undergraduates in Civil Engineering, spanning design and construction teams. You’ll gain exposure to live projects within the South West Water framework, with travel across the region required.

You’ll work on planning, design, site setting out, QA, safety, and documentation, while receiving mentorship and opportunities for future permanent roles and final-year funding support.

Qualifications

• Must be studying a full-time undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• A valid driving license and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, construction, commissioning, handover and completion of projects.
• Assist the Project Leader (Designer) with design tasks and documentation.
• Assist Site Engineer with setting out lines and levels using surveying equipment.
• Assist Site Engineer with QA and ITRs per procedures.
• Support Site Manager & Site Engineer with safety, health & environment on site.
• Support day-to-day site operations including materials and deliveries.
• Liaise with designers, support teams and supply chains.
• Assist with producing as-built surveys and completion documentation.
• Contribute to compilation of client completion documentation.
