Job summary

Arup in Manchester offers a 10-12-month Industrial Internship for a Civil Engineering student. From day one, you’ll work on real-life projects, adding value to clients while exploring challenges with curiosity and creativity.

You’ll learn from experienced professionals and begin building your professional network for graduation. There are regular learning sessions with the leadership team, site visits to local projects, and social events to support your development.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Civil Engineering student with proficiency in Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Experience or training in infrastructure design tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out assessment, analysis, and design, preparing design reports, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Developing infrastructure designs for development sites in the urban environment, including urban transport, site infrastructure, pavements, utilities and drainage design solutions.
• Collaborating with Arup colleagues in other disciplines.
• Meeting with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders, including site visits.
• Using specialist analysis and design software such as Infodrainage, GIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D/Bentley MicroStation, ProjectWise, ACC, Navisworks, Infraworks, Plant3D, InfoWorks, Python, and Copilot.
