Job summary

Marshalls plc, a leading UK manufacturer, invites a Civil Engineering CAD Technician to join the Design & Engineering team in Elland. The role offers hybrid working with a minimum of two days per week in the office, and involves CAD design and technical support for Water Management products.

You will produce drawings, calculations and BOMs, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver reliable concrete infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 in civil engineering related subject.
• Experience in a design and technical environment (consultancy, D&B contractor, or building products design & manufacture).
• Ability to follow industry design standards and codes.
• Experienced in material take-offs and drawing/specification reviews.
• Proficient in 2D AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks to produce digital models.
• Experience detailing precast concrete products and structures is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD design and technical support for Marshalls Civils & Drainage product ranges, focusing on Water Management products.
• Produce CAD drawings, calculations, bills of materials and provide engineering support to a high standard.
• Ensure compliance with Marshalls and wider industry processes and standards.
• Communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders; adapt to change and meet deadlines.

So what's the mission? Your main responsibilities will be to provide CAD design and technical support for the Marshalls Civils & Drainage product ranges, primarily focussing on our core Water Management products and solutions, with an exposure to linear drainage, sealed manholes and specialist products designed and manufactured to meet our customers requirements. You will produce CAD drawings, calculations, bills of materials and provide engineering support to a high standard, ensuring compliance with both Marshalls and wider industry processes and standards.

• Qualified to Level 3 (or equivalent) in a civil engineering related subject
• Experience of working in a design and technical environment (consultancy, D&B contractor, or a building products design & manufacture business)
• Ability to within industry design standards and codes
• Experienced in material take-offs and drawing / specification reviews
• Proficient in the use of 2D AutoCAD and / or Solidworks to produce digital models
• Previous experience in the detailing of pre-cast concrete products and structures would be a distinct advantage
• Ability to communicate and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
• Be able to demonstrate flexibility to adapt and respond to change
• Proven ability to motivate yourself to meet project deadlines
