Job summary

Marshalls plc in Elland, West Yorkshire is recruiting an Assistant Civil Design Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team. You will support the Senior Civil Lead Engineer with design and technical tasks for our water and drainage product ranges, producing drawings and calculations to high standards.

You'll gain exposure to Eurocode 2 design, AutoCAD and SolidWorks, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and help deliver safe, durable infrastructure solutions across the UK.

Qualifications

• Civil/structural design or engineering qualification preferred.
• Experience with Eurocode 2 (EN 1992-1-1) design.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar structural software.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings and calculations for Marshalls Civils & Drainage product ranges.
• Support design and engineering team on projects and product development.
• Ensure compliance with Marshalls standards and industry codes.

So what's the mission?

Supporting our Senior Civil Lead Engineer, you will be an integral part our dedicated team of Design Engineers who are passionate about the development of our products and service offering. Your main responsibilities will be to provide design and technical support for the Marshalls Civils & Drainage product ranges, primarily focussing on our structural product lines offering bespoke water management products and our Redi-Rock retaining wall system. You will help to produce drawings, calculations and provide engineering support to a high standard, ensuring compliance with both Marshalls and wider industry processes and standards.

What are the mission-critical skills?

• Experience working within a civil / structural design and technical environment (consultancy, design & build contractor or building products design & manufacturer)
• Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Construction related qualifications (degree qualified is preferred)
• Working knowledge of Eurocode 2 design, EN 1992 Part 1-1
• Problem solving skills
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Solidworks and Structural Engineering Software (SCIA experience would be ideal)
• Ability to communicate and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
• Be able to demonstrate flexibility to adapt and respond to change
• Proven ability to motivate yourself to meet project deadlines
