Job summary

Marshalls plc is seeking a Civil Engineering CAD Team Leader to lead design and technical support for the Marshalls Sealed Manhole system within our Water Management division. The role is based in Elland with hybrid working (minimum two days in the office per week).

You will manage workload, approve drawings and take-offs, and develop team capability to deliver accurate, timely solutions for UK-wide civil engineering projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a technical team with workload management and performance support.
• Experience reviewing drawings, take-offs and bills of materials.
• Ability to plan resources and manage competing priorities under deadlines.
• Clear communicator; builds relationships with colleagues and customers.

So what's the mission?

Lead the team responsible for the design, specification and technical support of the Marshalls Sealed Manhole system within the wider Water Management products and solutions division with an exposure to Linear Drainage and specialist products. Take ownership of day-to-day team performance, resource planning, and customer service, ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time. Help to lead technical support and develop team capability and training.

What are the mission-critical skills?

• Experience of leading a technical team, including workload management, training, objective setting and performance support.
• Experience of reviewing and approving drawings, take-offs and bills of material.
• Ability to plan resources, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards under demanding deadlines.
• Clear and influential communicator who can build effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Qualified to Level 3 in civil engineering related subject or equivalent.
• Experience working within a design and technical environment.
• Ability to work within design standards / codes.
• Experience in undertaking take-offs and drawing/specification reviews.
• Problem solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of 2D CAD.
• Ability to communicate and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Be able to demonstrate flexibility to adapt and respond to change.
• Self-motivated and proven ability to consistently meet project deadlines.
